In this two-day course, students learn to sail on 22’ boats in moderate wind and sea conditions in San Diego Bay. This course teaches the ability to skipper a sloop-rigged keelboat by day in light to moderate winds and sea conditions. Focus is on basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, seamanship and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards.
This is a prerequisite for further sailing classes, and is perfect for those who want to learn how to sail without any prior experience. At the end of this class you will be certified to rent and sail boats up to 25ft with crew.
Cost: $349 per person
