FAQ Q329: What exactly happens when a reservation is modified?

Note that reservations can be modified by the admins and also by your customers. If you want to allow this, set the minimum time before arrival when this is possible in
Active features and also make sure your customers can modify their reservation, e.g. by including the $(modify_url) tag in the emails sent to the customers (see
Q204 for more about such tags).
Once the reservation gets modified the following actions will be carried out:
- Price recalculation: if the reservation is modified by the customer, this will always occur; if modified by an admin, the price recalculation will only occur if the price recalculation checkbox is checked
- Status change: If ALL of the following conditions are met, the reservation will lose the confirmed status but will not lose the reserved status (meaning that no other person will be able to reserve the resource at that time):

- Email and SMS notifications will be sent out, if specified on the Notifications page
- For any of the integrations / extensions used (such as the Google Calendar or Zoom integration), the new dates/times will be updated also in the integrated software
- Webhooks will be fired (if defined) so that other connected apps can synchronize the new dates/times
- If a color rule if defined for the modification event, the reservation can possibly get a new color
- If waiting list is used for the resource and the new dates/times create a potential for a waiting list reservation to be upgraded to a regular reservation, a special vacation placeholder will be added to make sure no other customer can reserved the freed-up dates, and immediately such reservations will be listed on the Waiting list vacation placeholders page and the site admin will be notified of this possibility
