Tutorial: How to set up prices of resources (2 / 6)
Day-to-day or last-minute pricing can be very useful for businesses that change their pricing continuously, such as hotels, to minimize the number of rooms having no occupancy. Of course you could go to the Pricing Manager every day to modify the rules based on the date but this would be messy (lots of rules) and time consuming. This is why Planyo has a special rule called
daily pricing.
This rule is different from any other because there is no condition and instead of setting a price for each resource you open a new page with a calendar view.
On this page you can specify the price for any day of the year. You can also specify a price for the entire week. If both the weekly and daily prices are specified, the daily price is used. Please note that this is still a pricing manager rule, so you can still do things like increase the price or add a discount instead of overriding the price. Also this rule will be applied in the normal order, so it is possible for another rule (which comes after the daily pricing rule) to override a daily price. You could also have multiple daily pricing rules if you wish although this isn’t normally necessary.
The daily pricing uses a fixed unit (such as price per day and per person). The unit can be changed in pricing manager, just like for any other rule.
Advanced conditions will also with the daily pricing, so you can have a rule which is applied only if special daily pricing was not used (or was used).
