Fig 3. Second step - adding resources

After adding the court, you're taken to the resource (court) settings page. The settings available can vary depending on the site and resource type that was chosen. You will not see some of these settings if you're creating a site for a hotel or even if you chose the FREE site type. The different settings often have a tooltip help so we'll only go through the important ones here.

The allowed start quarters specify at what time it's possible to rent a court. E.g. selecting xx:00min and xx:30min allows clients to make a reservation starting at 10:00 or 10:30 but not at 10:15 or 10:20. If you only want clients to come at every full hour (9am, 10am, 11am etc.), leave the default setting (xx:00min only). Please note that this setting will determine the precision of the calendars. There are three versions: one without hours (days only), one with all hours and one with a quarter-precision. The 'reservation approval' option is very important and determines what the reservation process will look like for the user. You could for example require clients to have a password or confirm reservations with an online payment. By default, each reservation must be confirmed by the administrator who receives an email (or optionally an SMS or fax) after a new reservation is made and then he/she must go to the admin panel to either accept or reject the reservation. See this FAQ question for more info about different approval possibilities.

Another option that is worth mentioning is resource sharing. This allows different persons to make a reservation for the same resource. E.g. in case of tennis courts, you might want to allow (in certain cases) 2 different players to reserve the same court. This might work well when there are people who are looking for a playing partner. This option could also be used in case of a hostel/dormitory where different visitors can reserve beds in the same room. In such case the resource (room) could be made available for sharing. Number of courts (resources) defines how many resources of the same kind you have. If there are big differences between the resources (big enough that clients might want to reserve a specific one), you should add them as separate resources. If you decide to add multiple resources of the same kind, you as the admin still have the possibility to assign names (or numbers) to each unit and assign reservations to a specific unit. You can define unit names/numbers by clicking the button 'unit names' in the actions at the bottom of the page. More in this FAQ

The action buttons allow you to specify additional resource settings or perform actions related to it:
